Knicks Set NBA Final Record by Overcoming a 29-point Deficit to Win Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals

I concur with my friend, Matty Downtown Brown, who feels head coach Mitch Johnson is the biggest weakness of the San Antonia Spurs. Some others, but only a few have made the same point. I don’t agree with some of DeAaron Fox’s decision making but give some leeway for these super-young talented guys on the Spurs roster. I think they have been doing great, but just don’t have the experience to compete in crunch time like the Knicks can, with their years of experience and lessons from previous playoff failures. E.g. this video questions Fox’s decision-making in the next to last Spurs possession of Game 4 but I put the bulk of the blame on the head coach who allowed the meltdown and choke to happen across 1.5 quarters of basketball.

Not enough has been raised about Mitch Johnson’s role (e.g. not calling time outs when his players were in tough spots, not resting Wemby with a 29-point lead, poor clock management), but I guess it’s only natural for people to focus on the last layup attempt by Fox:
